Good news: the anthology the Vampire Connoisseur, featuring my short story “The Red Angel” has officially been released on Amazon. Thanks to Todd Sullivan for being a very supportive editor, and Nightmare Press for publishing the story. You can purchase a copy here.
2021: new year, new beginnings. We are still facing the winter of Covid that completely sucks, but at least with vaccine distribution started there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping Irish Fest and Ren Fest will be happening this summer. Kids going back to school full time will relieve a heavy burden on parents. We’re getting near the end, don’t mess it up now by pretending Covid is already over. I am tired of this whole thing, but we all have to endure for a little bit longer.
With my success at having a short story published in an anthology, my goal for 2021 is to submit a piece of writing at least once a month. I have changed my method. I used to finish a short story, then try to find a place to send that particular story and be disappointed at finding a publication that I felt fit that particular peice. Instead, I am going to keep an eye out for open submissions, and see if their are any openings for stories I have written.
My other goal is to find an agent in 2021. I have a few promising leads, but am doing the revising work that needs to be done.
For blogging, I think twice a week has turned out to be my sweet spot. The problem with once a week is I have a tendency to forget to update and leave it until the last minute. 3 posts a week was just overwhelming. I will be continuing the Journey to Paganism series until August/September of 2021 for my initial year long commitment. For reviews, I probably will stick to two a month: one book and one other. I am also planning on putting some time into behind the scenes website stuff, so hopefully it will look nicer and be easier to find when I am done.
Stay safe everyone, and happy New Year! May 2020 be eaten by a dragon!
