I wrote this during the border crisis before the pandemic. Even if things are slightly improved I suspect the prayer is still needed. I meant this to be a prayer to Brigid, using one of her names Bride.
Prayer to Bride
My Lady, Bride of the shining Sun
For the families that come to the land of immigrants
Seeking sanctuary
Only to be torn apart
By those sworn to protect and secure
Who have been turned into a weapon of war
May your fire burn in their hearts
for the children told they were safe
Only to be alone among strangers
May your fire bring small hearts comfort
For the Mothers and Fathers
Fearing for their family’s lives
Being told their lives are worthless
May your fire protect and guide
for those who stand
To unite families
Defend the innocent
Change our laws
May your fire of strength be in their hearts
Bride, my lady of fire
May all families be united
To find sanctuary
Comfort
And Love
Lady Bride, Allow your flames to engulf the land
