Go Out and Vote
This might be a late message because elections are the day after this goes up but: vote. There are many reasons this midterm is important, but we get the world we make. Local elections are doubly important this year, so make sure you educate yourself on the candidates and the offices. If you don’t like the two major party candidates, look at third party, or decide what you value more. Don’t look for perfection, look for the best option, and the choice you can live with.
Give to the Max day is Coming
For those in Minnesota, Give to the Max Day is November 17. It is an excellent way to make donations to local and national charities, and they have a chance to win cash prizes. Early giving has already started, so you don’t have to wait to make a donation.
Please Donate to Mother Jones
On the topic of donations, Mother Jones has a few days left of their fall fundraising drive. They do excellent investigative reporting work, and have come under fire many times. Donations are doubled, so anything you can give helps them.
Blog Updates
I know I skipped a week last month. I am trying my best to keep up with one post a week. School has been kicking me, but I am hoping to use the semester break to work ahead. So just month and a half left. I promise not to skip more than a week.
No Nanowrimo this year, for the same reason. I am not insane. I doubt I’ll be able to do it while I am working on my Master’s. But I am cheering for everyone who tries it this year!
During October, I got multiple ideas for posts I haven’t fully fleshed out. I am going to start a new series called “Pagans and the Past” because all those ideas fall under that umbrella. I am planning on starting with “Pagans and Horror” which, yes, would have been very appropriate for October, but I didn’t get a chance to work on it. It is still fall, if only Christmas could retreat from its occupation of November… sigh.
I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, and best of luck on Nanowrimo for everyone who chooses to participate!
