Fall has now officially come. It is chilly out and the leaves are turning. October is my favorite month– I love Halloween! The weather is usually cooler, you need to start bundling up, but not yet the cold of winter. I love Jack-o-lanterns, caramel apples, spooky stories, and trick-or-treating. I hope everyone can have a safe Halloween, and are still able to celebrate at least a bit of the holiday. In honor of Halloween, I am going to review a book about vampires– the Blood Royal Saga— and a spooky podcast named Blackwood.
October also means the election is next month. I encourage everyone to vote. If you’re not too keen on the top of the ticket (which I can’t really blame people for) then take a look at down ballot and local elections or third parties. We get the world we make, and voting– even if it isn’t your first choice– is a way to be a part of making the world. Elections in the United States are local, so please check your secretary of state website to see what the rules for your state are. Also, please stay safe while voting.
I have just finished up the Loft Wordsmith online conference, and will be doing a full blog post about it next week. This month, I will be doing at least one blog post a week. This Friday will be the topic Not Just Gods: Working with Other Powers in my Journey to Paganism series. I will be doing the Third Monday Fiction and may be able to squeeze in an editorial. Then I will do at least two reviews.
Happy Halloween!
